CACH USA on an awareness campaign
THE GREATEST OF EVILS ARE CONDUCTED UNDER A SHROUD
30 August, 2015
Ian Giles reports.
All of the world’s greatest evils take place under a veil of unquestionable good.
Some examples of this include religious justification for war and domination where religious doctrines are perverted in order to support killing. Once the veil is in place, justification is provided for brainwashing of entire populations including children to further evil intent.
These movements typically rely on historical doctrines that were specifically designed to do good. The doctrines are corrupted and specifically applied to select groups in order to gain justification for evil that mostly involves the taking of life. Mostly this involves assigning specific advantage to a small group in order to dominate and destroy. Implementation typically involves fear mongering and assertion, and the use of guns combined with the corrupted justification.
These initiatives are never sustainable. Exposure of the true intent is the undoing of all such endeavors. Unfortunately though, the collapse of these evils takes time, and requires the cycle to reach a certain tipping point before exposing the truth undermines the evil and the evil dissipates.
The energy of the evil doers initially exceeds that of normal individuals who are initially unsuspecting and naïve. Normal people are initially reluctant to engage in the solution for a number of reasons. These include a belief in basic human good prevailing over evil, anunwillingness to recognize the evil, a wish to lead a life free from evil, expectation that others will address the problem, and fear of being outspoken.
Non-subscribers to the evil often prefer to look the other way and resign themselves to the fact that they are not empowered enough to get involved. Mainstream media is often used as a propaganda tool and operates under a different shroud. Media manipulation is a key component of furthering evil agendas. And then, the internet became a reality. Exposure of evil intent through communication that pulls back the protective veils is key to collapse of all systematic and secretive evil. Non-traditional methods of communication pull back the screens and facilitate triumph of good over evil. This happens by exposing the flaws in the propaganda messages put out from engines of ill intent.
Benchmarking is an important component of the propaganda process. Setting killing thresholds enables the bar to be shifted based on flawed justifications. Quota systems are particularly vulnerable to unscrupulous manipulation. The taking of life is desired by a select few. Normal people do not require guns or death in their lives.
The “veil” worn by hunters is “conservation”. The more established the “conservation organization”, the more dangerous they become. The “naivety” is hard to accept since the evidence is abundant and proudly displayed online. How is it possible to accept that hunters staff agencies responsible for conservation?
In my mind, you either kill wildlife, or you conserve. The greyness might be one weak explanation for the confusion, so let’s attempt to clarify.
· Hunting and “controlled killing” is absolutely required in order to conserve wildlife, because without it, there would be chaos.
· Hunters eliminate apex predators like wolves, mountain lion, coyotes, lion in order to justify killing next in line.
· Herds require elimination of old members and that way the herd grows faster.
· Contradicts the first argument, but still justifies killing. Predators have no difficulty killing and do not need human intervention.
· Man is entitled to hunt for food and has done so for millions of years
· When last did you eat a lion? Or are you on a wolf and black rhino diet?
· Hunting is the only way to “sustain” wildlife and the local populations
· A dead animal is not a sustainable asset. It is a dead animal and no locals benefit.
Another tool in the hunter’s arsenal is to use ancient norms to justify current practices. “My grandfather used to hunt, and it is my birthright”.
How sensible is that approach in a changing world? Exposing the myth is not much of a challenge.
The entire world is well aware of the fact that wildlife is in danger of extinction, except perhaps some of the key “conservation” organizations. Perhaps they didn’t get the memo? Or is there a greater evil at play? Money trails can be followed. Should we not be doing that?
Exposing hunters in “conservation” organizations is not challenging. They typically cannot resist flaunting it online, in attempts to appear “normal”, or “strong”. Anyone who knows anything about wildlife knows that it does not require strength or intellect to kill.
Roughly 1000 affluent Americans kill lion in Africa annually. The pressure on wildlife does not allow this practice to continue. Yes there is local poaching too, and the Asian threat. But if 1000 Americans carry golf bags and cameras instead of guns to Africa each year, the contribution to killing by an educated and first world group would go away.
Why is it so difficult for “conservation” organizations like US Fish and Wildlife Society and CITES to put an end to this seemingly small problem?
· Are they dragging their feet in order to “sustain” their employment?
· Are they benefitting from bribes?
· Are they afraid of repercussions from hunters if they put an end to the practice?
· Are they hunters themselves?
The evidence is proudly displayed online, or is traceable by monitoring the flow of funds. It is time to expose the evil, and watch the collapse.
All contributions to the effort are impactful and there is evidence of change. Raise awareness. Get involved.
· Discover and expose from your own computers
· Participate in online petitions for change
· Engage politicians who are implementing change
· Engage the tourism and transport industries
· Don’t be naïve or accepting of the evil
· Pull back the veneers and expose the hypocrisy
· Participate in opportunities for public comment
· Support true conservationists in conservation and purge hunters from conservation organizations
· Demand that taxes be used to protect wildlife, not sustain hunting

LA Roar for the cause, protesting the cruelty to lions in Africa
14 March, 2015
LA
Susan Campisi reports
Though our LA "march" this year was pared down, we held two small but lively protests on Friday, at 11:30-1:30pm and 5:30-7pm.
During the first protest, Georja and I delivered the CACH protest letter to the Consul-General, who gave Georja a big hug (but not me!) and danced around Georja's pointed questions about when canned lion hunting would be made illegal in South Africa.
During the evening protest, we staged a re-enactment of the canned hunting life cycle with kids performing as lion cubs and hunter (inspired by Tel Aviv's march last year). Janet helped film the action and she and her husband are editing the video, which should be both educational and hilarious.
All three of us care deeply about ending canned lion hunting and want to keep the momentum going in LA. Like me, Janet and Georja are super busy with personal and professional lives and grassroots campaigning for elephants and rhinos (and ALL animals), but they (like me) want to stay in the CACH loop so we can continue to advocate for lions.
The kids who performed at the protest wanted the story to end on a happy note, so our last scene was titled "2016: Canned Hunting is Banned in South Africa." Then all the kids/lions woke up from the dead and celebrated (and chased the hunter into the cage/dog crate). Let's make it happen.
With love for the lions,
Susan
p.s. Just want to give a shout out to Matt Rossell of ADI, who went above and beyond to help organize this year.
Pheonix, Arizona roars for the lions in Africa
14 March 2015
Phoenix, Arizona march:
Renee C. Behinfar reports
Arizonans proudly united with cities around the world and participated in the Global March for Lions. We passed out over 300 flyers and educated people about canned lion hunting. Several passersby asked "Why are you doing this here? This is a problem in South Africa?" Most were surprised to learn that Tucson is home to the headquarters of one of the largest international organizations that supports canned hunting - Safari Club International.

World Animal Day education and awareness event
4 October, 2014
Rebecca Penrod
Before the event even started, there were quite a few people that stopped by to ask questions because of the large stuffed lion and posters we were setting up about canned lion hunting. Not one person that we talked to had ever heard of such an atrocious "sport" and were appalled that such a thing even existed in this day and age.
Because of our location constraints, we decided it best to not march and instead, educate people on canned lion hunting.
This was also because, in talking to people in the months leading up to the event, I found that only 2 people had ever even heard of canned lion hunting. Therefore I thought it would be best to educate people rather than ask them to march for something they knew nothing about.
It was an extremely emotional event as the opening speech was from done from the lion's prespective starting from a cub, to the time he was dying after being shot at by a group of "hunters". We continued on with educating people on exactly what canned lion hunting is and how it's fueling the lion bone trade within the Asian market.
Pat Craig from The Wild Animal Sanctuary, which is the oldest and largest, nonprofit sanctuary in the western hemisphere, spoke about what being born and raised in captivity does to a lion both physically and mentally. His sanctuary houses over 330 large carnivores, 56 of which are African Lions. That number will soon grow to approximately 100 as they are in the process of rescuing 44 more African lions. They not only don't allow breeding at the sanctuary but there is no cub petting of any type. They truly are heaven for all the animals there that have been through hell.
We also talked about what we as Americans can do to help put an end to this sordid industry. At the end of the event, we had a moment of silence for not only all of the lions we've lost to the canned lion hunting industry and those still in it, but also the elephants and rhinos being poached for their ivory, and all the animals that are trapped within the captive wildlife crisis.
We may not have had a huge turnout for our event, but each person that was there listened intently and was touched so deeply in regards to the hell these beautiful lions live in day after day. Each was inspired to not only do whatever they could to help put a stop to this horrendous "sport", but also to continue bringing awareness and educating people about the canned lion hunting industry.
I will be exploring other things we can do here in Denver to keep raising awareness and to help put a stop to canned lion hunting before it's too late.
Thank you so much for letting me be a part of CACH. It's been such an honor and I can promise you that I will do anything and everything in my power to help save every lion I possibly can from falling victim to this sickening and heartbreaking industry.
