Volunteering at the Karoo Wildlife Centre is a delight. Drink in the visual feast that is the Klein (small) Karoo; hear the silence, feel the peace. Walk through the hills and valleys; help feed the horses; learn a bit about bees and bee-keeping. Do some field work before the day gets hot. Later, relax on the deck with a glass of wine, waiting for the stars to appear.
